Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Announces ₹1 Crore Dedicated Water Pipeline for Chanaut Village, Promises Major Infrastructure Push

Residents of Chanaut village in Haryana are set to receive long-awaited relief from drinking water shortages after Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini approved a dedicated water supply pipeline for the village. The state government will spend nearly ₹1 crore on the project, aiming to provide a reliable source of clean drinking water to every household.

The announcement comes in response to repeated demands from villagers, who have struggled with inadequate drinking water facilities for years. Along with the new pipeline, the Chief Minister also outlined a broader development roadmap for the village, promising improvements in roads, electricity, drainage and community infrastructure.

Officials said the new pipeline will connect Chanaut directly to the main water supply network, ensuring an uninterrupted supply of potable water. The Chief Minister directed authorities to release funds and begin the necessary procedures so that the project can be completed without unnecessary delays.

During his interaction with village representatives, Saini stressed that access to clean drinking water remains one of the government’s top priorities. He said development initiatives should directly improve the quality of life for rural residents and that essential civic amenities must reach every village.

Besides the drinking water project, the Chief Minister announced four additional measures aimed at strengthening Chanaut’s infrastructure. The government will undertake the repair and strengthening of major approach roads and internal village streets to improve connectivity and ease of movement.

He also assured villagers that efforts would be made to upgrade the local electricity network to reduce frequent power disruptions and improve the reliability of supply. In addition, financial assistance will be provided for the renovation of the village chaupal or community hall, creating better public spaces for social and community activities.

Another major commitment focuses on sanitation. The state government plans to develop a proper drainage system to address the long-standing issue of wastewater disposal, which has affected hygiene and public health in the village.

The announcements have been welcomed by local residents, many of whom described the dedicated water pipeline as a much-needed solution to a problem that has persisted for years. Villagers expressed hope that once the project is completed, families will no longer have to struggle for adequate drinking water, particularly during the summer months.

Community representatives also appreciated the Chief Minister’s decision to address multiple civic issues simultaneously instead of focusing solely on water supply. They said improvements in roads, drainage and electricity would contribute significantly to the overall development of the village.

With the ₹1 crore drinking water project and a series of infrastructure commitments, the Haryana government aims to improve basic amenities in Chanaut while strengthening rural development across the state.
