CM Yogi Adityanath Calls on Youth to Turn Energy and Talent into Nation-Building

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday called on the country’s youth to use their talent, energy and sense of purpose to contribute to nation-building. Launching the ‘Tiranga Yatra with Youth’ in Lucknow, he said young Indians have the ability to tackle the country’s biggest challenges but need the right opportunities and platforms to turn their potential into meaningful action.

The event was organised under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign and coincided with the 101st anniversary of the Kakori Train Action. Yogi paid tribute to the freedom fighters associated with the historic episode and urged young people to learn from the sacrifices of those who fought for India’s independence.

Yogi’s message to India’s youth

Addressing the gathering, Yogi said India’s young population represents both talent and tremendous energy. He stressed that education should not be limited to classrooms or conventional academic learning, and that young people should also understand the challenges facing society and the country.

He said the objective should be to create opportunities where young people can apply their skills to real-world problems and contribute to India’s progress.

The programme was attended by Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, Uttar Pradesh BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary and several senior party leaders and workers.

Tricolour represents India’s pride and identity

Yogi also spoke about the wider significance of the national flag, saying the Tricolour represents much more than India’s national identity. He described it as a symbol of the country’s development, heritage, pride and collective consciousness.

He said respect for India’s heritage and national symbols has been given greater importance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. Yogi also stressed that attempts to insult the country’s heritage or its prominent personalities should not be accepted.

According to the Chief Minister, the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign is also an opportunity to help younger generations understand the country’s freedom struggle and remember the people who made sacrifices for India’s independence.

Vande Mataram completes 150 years

Yogi further highlighted the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’, noting that the national song is being commemorated across the country. He said both the national song and national anthem hold an important place in India’s national identity and called for greater respect for these symbols.

Appeal to take Har Ghar Tiranga to every home

BJP state president Pankaj Chaudhary said the sight of the Tricolour evokes a strong sense of pride among Indians and recalled the sacrifices of soldiers protecting the country’s borders.

He also pointed to India’s sporting achievements, saying the national flag flying at international sporting events gives Indian athletes a strong sense of confidence and national pride.

During the Lucknow programme, leaders appealed to young people and party workers to expand the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign across communities and encourage citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes around Independence Day.

The Tiranga Yatra, therefore, was positioned not only as a patriotic campaign but also as an effort to connect younger Indians with the country’s freedom struggle, national symbols and the broader responsibility of contributing to India’s future.
