Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has urged the state’s young population to look beyond conventional employment and consider entrepreneurship as a way to create jobs and expand economic opportunities. He said the strength of Uttar Pradesh lies not only in its large market and workforce but also in the skills, ideas and talent of its young people, artisans, craftsmen and entrepreneurs.
In an open message to the people of Uttar Pradesh, Adityanath said the government was working to create new opportunities that could help young people turn their skills into businesses. He called for a shift from being employment seekers to becoming employment creators, presenting entrepreneurship as an important part of the state’s broader economic ambitions.
Adityanath also highlighted the upcoming fourth edition of the UP International Trade Show (UPITS 4.0), which will be held from September 25 to 29 at the India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida.
The chief minister said the trade show was launched in 2023 with the objective of taking products made in Uttar Pradesh to international markets. He said the platform also provides an opportunity to showcase the work of the state’s artisans, entrepreneurs and farmers before buyers and businesses from outside the state.
Adityanath urged students, young people, innovators and aspiring entrepreneurs to participate in the five-day event and use it to explore new business connections, markets and opportunities. He encouraged young participants to identify possibilities that match their individual skills and capabilities.
According to the chief minister, stronger links between local producers and global markets can help Uttar Pradesh expand its economic base. He linked this effort to the state’s stated ambition of building a $1 trillion economy and contributing to the broader goal of a developed Uttar Pradesh.
The UP International Trade Show has been positioned as a platform for investment, trade partnerships and industrial development across a wide range of sectors. These include manufacturing, technology, handicrafts, agriculture and other emerging and traditional industries.
The event also aligns with initiatives such as Make in India, Vocal for Local and Aatmanirbhar Bharat, with organisers seeking to connect businesses and producers from Uttar Pradesh with domestic and international buyers.
For buyers, UPITS 4.0 is expected to provide an opportunity to explore products and services from different sectors under one platform. For local businesses and entrepreneurs, the event offers a route to showcase their products, build commercial connections and explore markets beyond Uttar Pradesh.
Adityanath’s message places entrepreneurship at the centre of the state’s youth-focused economic strategy, with the government seeking to encourage young people to use their skills not only to find employment but also to build enterprises and generate opportunities for others.
