Nitin Nabin Accuses Rahul Gandhi of Acting as ‘Toolkit’ for Foreign Forces, Leads BJP March in Kolkata

Nitin Nabin Accuses Rahul Gandhi of Acting as ‘Toolkit’ for Foreign Forces, Leads BJP March in Kolkata
BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Monday, November 2, accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of attempting to create political instability in India and acting as a “toolkit” for foreign forces seeking to destabilise the country. His remarks came a day after the INDIA bloc organised a rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan over allegations of vote theft and irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

Nabin made the allegations while leading the BJP’s ‘Save Democracy, End Anarchy’ march in Kolkata. The procession, which drew a large gathering of party supporters, was also attended by West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari and state BJP president Samik Bhattacharya. The BJP used the event to counter the Opposition’s campaign over electoral rolls and question its criticism of constitutional institutions.

Nabin Links Rahul Gandhi to Unrest in Neighbouring Countries

Addressing supporters, Nabin alleged that Rahul Gandhi was acting as a “toolkit” for forces behind unrest in Nepal and other neighbouring countries. He also referred to political instability in Bangladesh and Europe, claiming that attempts to destabilise India would not succeed because of the strength of its democratic institutions.

“Rahul Gandhi is acting as a toolkit of those forces which engineered the unrest in Nepal and other neighbouring countries,” Nabin alleged, adding that Indian democracy was strong enough to withstand such attempts.

The march began at College Street and moved towards Dharmatala in central Kolkata. Hundreds of BJP workers and supporters joined the procession, which was organised under the slogan ‘Save Democracy, End Anarchy’.

BJP Questions Congress Stand on SIR and Election Commission

Nabin accused the Congress of targeting constitutional institutions and attempting to create unrest whenever it faced electoral defeats. He argued that the party questioned the Election Commission of India when results went against it but accepted the same electoral system when it won.

Referring to the Congress victory in the Kerala Assembly elections, he questioned the Opposition’s allegations surrounding the SIR exercise.

“If SIR had been the issue, how did Congress win in Keralam?” he asked.

The BJP president also said that political parties should focus on public issues rather than questioning institutions after unfavourable election results.

Nabin Targets Congress-Mamata Banerjee Political Understanding

Turning his attention to West Bengal politics, Nabin claimed that the BJP’s victory over the Trinamool Congress had brought an end to what he described as anarchy in the state.

He also questioned the political understanding between Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Nabin pointed out that Gandhi had criticised the Mamata Banerjee government over corruption and alleged misrule during the Assembly election campaign, but the two leaders were now sharing a political platform.

Nabin further accused the Congress and its allies of prioritising the interests of infiltrators over the welfare of the country’s population. These remarks formed part of the BJP’s wider attack on the Opposition’s position on electoral roll revision and immigration.

Suvendu Adhikari Gives BJP’s Interpretation of SIR

Addressing supporters at the conclusion of the march, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari presented the BJP’s position on the Special Intensive Revision exercise through the slogan “Remove Infiltrators, Save India”.

Adhikari alleged that Opposition parties had come together to protect themselves from corruption cases, possible imprisonment and political challenges, while also seeking to preserve what he described as appeasement politics.

He referred to the BJP’s reported mandate of 2.92 crore votes in the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections and said the party would continue to pursue its position on identifying and removing illegal infiltrators.

Adhikari also warned Opposition parties that the BJP would respond politically in the upcoming Kolkata and Howrah municipal corporation elections.

The Kolkata march highlighted how the dispute over electoral rolls and the SIR exercise has become a major point of confrontation between the BJP and the Opposition, with both sides seeking to mobilise public support around competing claims about democracy and the electoral process.
