Amarnath Yatra 2025: Pilgrim Count Nears 1 Lakh Mark
Srinagar, July 8, 2025:
The sacred Amarnath Yatra 2025, one of the most revered annual pilgrimages for Hindus, is all set to cross the milestone of 1 lakh pilgrims. As of today, over 94,000 devotees have already paid their obeisance at the holy Amarnath Cave Shrine since the commencement of this year's journey on July 3.
The pilgrimage, which takes place amid the snow-capped Himalayas of Jammu & Kashmir, has witnessed an overwhelming response from devotees across India and abroad, reflecting the strong spiritual connection and unwavering faith associated with Lord Shiva’s abode.
Smooth Conduct & Robust Security
Officials from the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) confirmed that this year’s Yatra has been progressing smoothly, with no major disruptions reported so far. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir administration, security forces, and health departments, pilgrims are experiencing a safe and well-organized pilgrimage.
Adequate arrangements including medical camps, langars (community kitchens), security checkpoints, and weather monitoring systems have been put in place along both the Baltal and Pahalgam routes.
Weather Conditions Remain Favorable
Weather conditions have remained largely favorable over the past few days, facilitating an uninterrupted flow of devotees towards the Holy Cave. However, authorities continue to monitor the weather closely, given the region’s vulnerability to sudden changes.
Pilgrims Express Gratitude
Pilgrims from various parts of India have expressed immense gratitude towards the administration and locals for their hospitality and seamless arrangements. Many first-time visitors have shared emotional stories of experiencing divine peace after reaching the holy cave and witnessing the naturally formed Ice Shivling, the centerpiece of the pilgrimage.

The Amarnath Yatra, which commenced on July 3, will conclude on August 17, coinciding with the festival of Raksha Bandhan and the auspicious day of Shravan Purnima.
