Bihar BJP Lights Over 20 Lakh Diyas to Mark PM Modi’s 76th Birthday

The Bihar unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party organised its “Ashirwad Ka Diya” programme across the state on Thursday, September 17, to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday. BJP leaders and workers participated in events at several locations, with more than 20 lakh diyas lit as part of the celebrations.

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary joined the programme at the Pataliputra Sports Complex, while state BJP president Sanjay Saraogi took part in a similar event in Darbhanga. The celebrations were organised under the party’s month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, which includes a series of public outreach and service activities.

Samrat Choudhary Highlights Modi’s 25-Year Public Journey

Speaking at the event, Choudhary said Modi’s 25 years in public life reflected what he described as a consistent commitment to India’s development.

The Chief Minister pointed to several central government welfare initiatives, including Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, household electricity and sanitation programmes, foodgrain distribution and healthcare schemes. He said these initiatives had been implemented on a large scale under Modi’s leadership.

At the Pataliputra Sports Complex, Choudhary lit a diya as part of the statewide programme. The event brought together BJP workers and supporters who participated in the symbolic lighting ceremony.

Blood Donation Camp Held in Patna

The BJP also organised a blood donation camp at its Patna office as part of the birthday-related activities. Choudhary attended the programme and distributed certificates to those who participated in the blood donation drive.

The party has linked the various activities to its broader Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, presenting the celebrations as a combination of public service initiatives and events marking the Prime Minister’s birthday.

BJP President Participates in Darbhanga Programme

Bihar BJP president Sanjay Saraogi attended the Ashirwad Ka Diya programme in Darbhanga. Similar diya-lighting events were organised at different locations across the state, contributing to the BJP’s target of lighting more than 20 lakh lamps.

The statewide campaign was part of the party’s efforts to involve its organisational network and workers in events being held during the month-long programme.
