PM Modi Launches NDA’s Tamil Nadu Election Campaign from Maduranthakam, Targets DMK

Narendra Modi Says Tamil Nadu ‘Ready for Change’, Promises Strong Centre-State Support

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday formally kicked off the NDA’s election campaign in Tamil Nadu with a major public rally at Maduranthakam, sending a clear political message ahead of the upcoming polls.

Addressing a large gathering, the Prime Minister launched a sharp attack on the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), accusing it of presiding over what he described as a “CMC government — Corruption, Mafia and Crime.”

“Tamil Nadu is ready for a change. The state needs a government that works in coordination with the Centre for faster development,” Modi said.

Attack on DMK, Call for Double-Engine Government

PM Narendra Modi alleged that corruption and lawlessness have increased under the DMK regime and argued that Tamil Nadu’s progress has been stalled due to political confrontation with the Centre.

He urged voters to support the NDA’s ‘double-engine government’ model, claiming it would accelerate infrastructure growth, investment, and employment in the state.

Praise for Jayalalithaa’s Governance

During his speech, Narendra Modi also paid tribute to former chief minister J Jayalalithaa, praising her governance and emphasis on women’s safety.

“Jayalalithaa ji ensured the safety and dignity of women in Tamil Nadu. Her work continues to inspire good governance,” the Prime Minister said.

Strong NDA Presence at Maduranthakam Rally

The rally witnessed a show of unity among NDA allies, with senior leaders from multiple parties sharing the stage. The event was attended by representatives of:

  • AIADMK
  • AMMK
  • PMK led by Anbumani Ramadoss
  • Tamil Maanila Congress
  • Indhiya Jananayaga Katchi, among others

The presence of alliance partners underlined the NDA’s intent to present a united front against the DMK in Tamil Nadu.

NDA Will End DMK Rule, Says PM Narendra Modi

Reiterating his confidence, Narendra Modi said the NDA would “free Tamil Nadu from DMK rule”, promising rapid development, better governance, and stronger coordination with the Union government.

The Maduranthakam rally marks the formal beginning of the NDA’s Tamil Nadu election push, with the BJP leadership expected to intensify its outreach across the state in the coming weeks.
