The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) appears set for a major organisational overhaul, with discussions between senior party leaders and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) entering a crucial phase. A day after a high-level strategy meeting in New Delhi, sources indicated that BJP president Nitin Nabin could unveil his new national team within the next few days.

The closed-door meeting, which lasted nearly four hours at Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s residence, is being viewed as an important step in shaping the BJP’s leadership structure ahead of key political challenges and upcoming elections. While the party has not issued an official statement, insiders say preparations for a broader organisational reshuffle are well underway.

Among those present at the meeting were Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) B.L. Santhosh, and senior RSS functionary Arun Kumar. The discussions reportedly focused on strengthening the party organisation and finalising appointments under the leadership of Nitin Nabin.

According to sources familiar with the deliberations, the BJP leadership is looking to strike a balance between experience and fresh energy. The new team is expected to feature a larger number of young leaders, reflecting Nabin’s own rise as one of the party’s youngest national presidents.

Party insiders also suggest that several leaders could be reassigned between organisational responsibilities and government roles as part of the restructuring exercise. The proposed changes are likely to align with the BJP’s broader social outreach strategy by ensuring representation from diverse communities and social groups.

The RSS is understood to have shared its views on organisational matters through Arun Kumar, whose participation highlighted the coordination between the party and the Sangh on key structural decisions.

Sources indicate that the announcement of Nabin’s new team could come around June 20–21. The organisational changes may also pave the way for a Union Cabinet reshuffle later this year as the NDA government completes two years of its third term in office.

Leaders involved in organisational work and those with strong grassroots experience are expected to receive greater responsibility. The exercise is also being seen as part of the BJP’s effort to promote younger leaders and increase the participation of women in decision-making roles across the party structure.

With several state units awaiting leadership decisions, the upcoming announcements could shape the BJP’s organisational direction for the next phase of its political journey.
