Ahead of UP Monsoon Session, CM Yogi Urges Political Parties to Choose Dialogue Over Disruption

Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly’s Monsoon Session beginning on Monday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath called on all political parties to ensure constructive discussions inside the House and avoid unnecessary disruptions. Addressing an all-party meeting in Lucknow on Sunday, he stressed that meaningful dialogue is the cornerstone of democracy and urged legislators to focus on issues that directly affect the people.

The Chief Minister said the Assembly should serve as a platform where public concerns are debated openly, allowing the government and the opposition to work together in finding practical solutions. He appealed to all parties to contribute towards a productive and orderly session in the interest of the state.

The all-party meeting was held at the Vidhan Bhavan under the chairmanship of Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana as part of preparations for the Monsoon Session starting on August 3. Leaders from both the ruling alliance and the opposition attended the meeting to discuss the smooth conduct of the proceedings.

During the discussion, Yogi Adityanath said elected representatives have a responsibility to raise the concerns, expectations, and challenges faced by the people they represent. According to him, open debate on public welfare issues helps strengthen democratic institutions and leads to better governance.

The Chief Minister also noted that over the past nine years, the Uttar Pradesh Assembly has demonstrated an effective model of legislative functioning. He credited the cooperation of different political parties for creating a constructive atmosphere in the House, adding that this collective approach has contributed to changing perceptions about Uttar Pradesh across the country and abroad.

Emphasising the importance of maintaining decorum, Yogi said uninterrupted proceedings are essential for addressing public issues effectively. He appealed to opposition members to extend their cooperation, saying citizens expect meaningful answers to their concerns, which can only be delivered through a well-functioning legislature.

Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana also urged all members to ensure the smooth conduct of the session. He called upon legislators to uphold parliamentary traditions and participate responsibly in the proceedings.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna, Leader of Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey, Dr Sanjay Nishad, Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party chief Om Prakash Rajbhar, Aradhana Mishra, Jansatta Dal Loktantrik leader Raghuraj Pratap Singh, Nishad Party legislative leader Ramesh Singh, Apna Dal (S) leader R.K. Patel, Rashtriya Lok Dal’s Rajpal Balyan, and several other political leaders.
