By Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath joined the Snehbandhan programme in Lucknow on Friday as Raksha Bandhan celebrations brought schoolgirls and public representatives together to mark the festival of sibling affection and trust.
The programme gave the Chief Minister an opportunity to interact directly with schoolgirls, who connected with him through an online platform and conveyed their Raksha Bandhan wishes. The students expressed their happiness at being part of the celebrations and getting an opportunity to speak with the Chief Minister.
Schoolgirls connect with CM through online interaction
During the Snehbandhan programme, students shared their festive greetings with Yogi Adityanath and spoke about their experience of participating in the special occasion.
The interaction added a personal dimension to the celebrations, with the Chief Minister engaging with the students as they marked Raksha Bandhan. The festival traditionally celebrates the bond of affection, trust and protection between brothers and sisters.

Raksha Bandhan was celebrated in different parts of the country through family gatherings, community programmes and public events.
In Chandigarh, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini celebrated the festival at Sant Kabir Kutir, where schoolgirls tied rakhis to him. The event reflected the participation of young students in public celebrations.
In Bhubaneswar, Brahma Kumari sisters, students and BJD leaders celebrated Raksha Bandhan with Odisha Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik at Naveen Niwas.
Army celebrates Raksha Bandhan under Bharat Raksha Parv
The Indian Army also marked Raksha Bandhan under its Bharat Raksha Parv initiative. Schoolchildren tied rakhis to Chief of Army Staff General Dhiraj Seth, highlighting the emotional connection between civilians and members of the armed forces.
The Army described the gesture as a symbol of affection and gratitude from children towards soldiers and as a reflection of the trust between citizens and the armed forces.
Across the country, Raksha Bandhan celebrations brought people together through traditional ceremonies and public programmes, with the festival continuing to serve as a reminder of affection, social harmony and mutual bonds.
