BJP national president Nitin Nabin is scheduled to address a major public meeting in Varanasi on October 7, with the party preparing for a gathering of around 50,000 people at the Jagatpur Inter College grounds in the Jagatpur area of Rohaniya. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is also expected to address the rally along with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Uttar Pradesh BJP president Pankaj Choudhary.
The proposed rally is being organised alongside the concluding programme of the Seva Sankalp Bike Yatra, which began on September 17 from Vadnagar, the birthplace of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. BJP leaders and organisational units in Varanasi have stepped up preparations for the October 7 event, with meetings planned across different party structures in the days leading up to the gathering.
BJP Steps Up Preparations for October 7 Rally
Details of the event were discussed at a meeting held at the Varanasi Circuit House on Wednesday. BJP national minister and state co-in-charge Jagdish Patel briefed party workers about the preparations for Nabin’s public meeting.
According to BJP leaders, the rally will mark the conclusion of the Seva Sankalp Bike Yatra, which is scheduled to reach Varanasi on October 7 after starting from Vadnagar.
State minister JPS Rathore said around 500 bike riders participating in the yatra will arrive in Varanasi and receive a welcome at Namo Ghat.
The participants are also scheduled to visit the Namo Book Festival at Namo Ghat. According to Rathore, the festival will feature more than 450 books written about Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Bike Yatra Participants to Visit Kashi Vishwanath
Following their visit to the book festival, the participants are scheduled to travel by cruise to Lalita Ghat. They will carry water from the locations covered during the yatra and, according to the programme outlined by BJP leaders, perform Jalabhishek at Baba Vishwanath.
The participants will then proceed to Jagatpur to attend Nitin Nabin’s public meeting.
The sequence of programmes is expected to make the bike yatra’s arrival in Varanasi a significant part of the BJP’s October 7 schedule.
Party Units Given Preparation Responsibilities
BJP state general secretary Dilip Patel called on party workers to begin preparations immediately and asked those assigned specific responsibilities to coordinate their work for the public meeting.
Regional BJP president Ashok Chaurasia said meetings of district and metropolitan office-bearers would be held on October 1 to review preparations. Further meetings involving party fronts, cells, departments and divisions are scheduled for October 2, 3 and 4.
The organisational meetings are intended to coordinate arrangements ahead of the rally and ensure participation from different levels of the party organisation.
The meeting was conducted by regional president Ashok Chaurasia, while Varanasi metropolitan president Pradeep Agrahari delivered the vote of thanks.
With senior BJP leaders scheduled to address the October 7 gathering, the party’s preparations in Varanasi are now focused on mobilising workers, coordinating the concluding programme of the Seva Sankalp Bike Yatra and managing arrangements for the proposed public meeting at Jagatpur.
