Thackeray Cousins React to Mumbai BMC Results: ‘Battle Is Not Over Yet’
Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) issued their first reactions after the results of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, striking a defiant tone and signalling that the political battle in Maharashtra is far from over.
In a post on social media platform X on Saturday, Shiv Sena (UBT) said, “This battle is not over yet… It will continue just like this until the Marathi person receives the respect they deserve.”
The party framed the election outcome as part of a larger, long-term struggle focused on Marathi identity, dignity, and political representation.
Raj Thackeray: Fight for Marathi Manoos Will Continue
MNS chief Raj Thackeray echoed similar sentiments, asserting that the fight would continue for the Marathi Manoos, the Marathi language, Marathi identity, and a prosperous Maharashtra.

In a detailed post on X, Raj Thackeray congratulated the elected corporators of both MNS and Shiv Sena (UBT), acknowledging the challenges faced during the elections.
“This election was not easy. It was a battle of immense money power and authority against Shivshakti. Yet, even in such circumstances, the workers of both parties fought valiantly,” he said.
Acknowledging Setback, Emphasising Resolve
The MNS chief admitted that the party did not achieve the expected results but insisted that the setback would not weaken their resolve.
“It is disappointing that MNS could not achieve the desired success, but we are not the kind to lose heart. The corporators who have been elected will firmly stand their ground and challenge the ruling powers wherever injustice is done to the Marathi Manoos,” Raj Thackeray stated.
Reiterating the ideological foundation of the party, he added that the struggle for Marathi identity is inseparable from the party’s existence and that the organisation would introspect, analyse shortcomings, and rebuild itself.

Warning Against Harassment of Marathi Communities
Raj Thackeray also warned that ruling forces and their allies would continue to harass Marathi-speaking communities across Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and the state.
“We must stand firmly behind the Marathi Manoos. Elections will come and go, but our very breath is Marathi,” he said, concluding his message with a call to reorganise and strengthen the party.
