According to party sources, 266 office-bearers and party vistaraks are expected to attend the camp at Chaudhary Lawn in Sundarpur. Senior BJP functionaries, including national organisational general secretary B.L. Santosh, national general secretary and Uttar Pradesh in-charge Vinod Tawde, and state organisational secretary Dharampal Singh, will lead sessions focused on improving coordination and expanding party activities at the grassroots level.
266 Party Functionaries to Attend
The participants will represent Assembly constituencies across the two regions. Of the total, 142 office-bearers will come from 71 constituencies in the Kashi region, while another 124 will represent 62 constituencies in the Gorakhpur region.
BJP Kashi region president Ashok Chaurasia said preparations for the camp had been completed. The programme is scheduled to start at 4 pm on Wednesday and end at the same time on Thursday.
The training will be conducted through six sessions covering organisational and election-related issues. Discussions are expected to focus on strengthening coordination from the booth level to Assembly constituencies, increasing organisational activities and improving the party’s readiness for the upcoming elections.
Senior Leaders to Guide Organisational Strategy
The presence of senior BJP leaders highlights the importance the party is placing on its organisational preparations in eastern Uttar Pradesh. The sessions led by Santosh, Tawde and Dharampal Singh are expected to provide guidance to local functionaries on improving the party’s working structure and ensuring closer coordination across different levels.
Rather than focusing solely on campaign planning, the camp is intended to address the organisational groundwork required ahead of the election, including grassroots engagement and the implementation of party programmes.
Yogi Adityanath’s Participation Remains Uncertain
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s participation in the training camp remained uncertain, as his scheduled engagements in Varanasi overlap with the programme. The chief minister is due to address a public meeting on Wednesday and is expected to leave the city on Thursday morning.
Chaurasia said the inaugural session of the training camp had been scheduled at nearly the same time as the chief minister’s public meeting. Local party leaders were awaiting confirmation of Adityanath’s final itinerary and a decision on whether he would attend the camp.
With preparations underway, the two-day meeting will bring together party functionaries from 133 Assembly constituencies across the Kashi and Gorakhpur regions. Its focus will be on strengthening the BJP’s organisational machinery and improving coordination as the party prepares for the next Uttar Pradesh Assembly election.
