The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its organisational outreach in the Northeast, with Nagaland BJP president Benjamin Yepthomi holding a key meeting with the party’s National General Secretary (Organisation), B.L. Santhosh, in New Delhi on Monday. The discussions focused on strengthening the party’s grassroots network, expanding its organisational base and preparing a roadmap for future growth in the state.
The meeting comes as the BJP continues to consolidate its presence across the Northeast through cadre development, organisational restructuring and increased engagement with local leadership. Party leaders described the interaction as part of the BJP’s ongoing efforts to reinforce its organisational machinery ahead of future political challenges.
During the meeting at the BJP headquarters, Yepthomi acknowledged Santhosh’s role in guiding party workers across the country. He praised his leadership style, saying that his accessibility, patience in interacting with grassroots workers and emphasis on organisational discipline have earned him widespread respect among BJP cadres.
According to party sources, the two leaders held detailed discussions on strengthening the BJP’s organisational framework in Nagaland. The conversation covered strategies to enhance booth-level activities, develop party workers and expand the BJP’s outreach in different parts of the state. The focus was also on ensuring that the organisation remains well-equipped to address local aspirations while contributing to the party’s larger national objectives.
Yepthomi said Santhosh’s guidance has consistently helped state units improve their organisational capabilities. He noted that the senior leader’s strategic vision and regular engagement with party workers provide direction and motivation to the cadre, particularly in states where the BJP is working to broaden its political footprint.
The Nagaland BJP chief also expressed gratitude for the continued support extended by the central leadership to the state unit. He said the guidance received from the national organisation would help the party strengthen its grassroots presence and work more effectively for the development of Nagaland.
The BJP has been focusing on expanding its organisational network across the Northeast in recent years by investing in cadre training, local leadership development and closer coordination between state units and the central leadership. The meeting between Yepthomi and Santhosh is being viewed as part of that broader strategy to reinforce the party’s organisational structure and improve its outreach in the region.
Party leaders believe that a stronger organisational base will enable the BJP to better connect with people at the grassroots level while advancing its development agenda in Nagaland. The discussions also underlined the importance of sustained coordination between the state leadership and the national organisation to ensure long-term growth.
