The BJP organised the ‘Nari Shakti Manthan’ workshop in New Delhi, bringing together Women and Child Development Ministers from BJP-governed states to discuss women’s empowerment, welfare scheme implementation and coordination between states. The discussions focused on sharing best practices and strengthening efforts to ensure that women benefit from government initiatives.
The workshop was led by BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) B.L. Santhosh, former MP Vinay Sahasrabuddhe and Union Minister Annapurna Devi. Vijay Puranik, Co-General Secretary of Rashtriya Seva Bharati, and Vijaya Rahatkar, Chairperson of the National Commission for Women, also attended the meeting.
Discussions Focus on Welfare Schemes and Coordination
A key area of discussion at the workshop was the effective implementation of women-focused welfare schemes. Participants exchanged views on improving coordination between states and sharing successful practices that could help strengthen programme delivery.
The emphasis on cooperation reflects the importance of ensuring that initiatives for women translate into practical benefits at the grassroots level. Better coordination among departments and state governments can also help identify effective approaches and improve the implementation of existing schemes.
BJP Highlights Women-Led Development
The workshop also highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of moving from women’s development to women-led development. The approach places greater emphasis on women’s participation in decision-making, leadership and the wider process of nation-building.
The BJP has positioned women’s empowerment as an important part of its development agenda. The gathering provided an opportunity for ministers and organisational representatives from BJP-governed states to discuss how women-focused initiatives can be strengthened through improved implementation, coordination and the exchange of best practices.
While the workshop centred on policy discussions and cooperation, no specific new scheme or formal decision was announced in the information available about the meeting.
