Release Date
Minecraft 1.21.11 will be released worldwide on December 9, 2025, marking the end of this year’s development cycle. The update includes several gameplay improvements previously tested in snapshot builds. Both Java and Bedrock players will receive the update simultaneously, continuing Mojang’s unified global rollout strategy.
New Features
The Mounts of Mayhem update centers on rideable mobs and mounted combat. Players will encounter a range of new creatures, including the Nautilus, Zombie Nautilus, Camel Husks, Zombie Camel Husks, Zombie Horses, and the Parched. These mobs spawn across various biomes, offering new challenges, behaviors, and taming possibilities.
A notable addition is the new Spear weapon, designed for close-quarters clashes and fast-paced mounted combat. The update also introduces the Lunge enchantment, giving players an extra mobility boost during attacks. Defense options have been expanded with new Nautilus Armor and Netherite Horse Armor, enhancing protection for both the rider and their mount.
Riding mechanics have been revamped to allow faster travel and better control during battles. Mojang has also hinted at hidden upside-down secrets and special limited-time world events that will activate after the update goes live.
