Mr. Pawan Nagpal honoured with ‘Social Activist of the Year’ at Atal Samman Samaroh

New Delhi: Social activist and filmmaker Pawan Nagpal was conferred with the ‘Social Activist of the Year’ award at the prestigious Atal Samman Samaroh, recognising his sustained contributions to social causes and public awareness initiatives.

The award was presented at a ceremonial function attended by senior political leaders, Union ministers, and eminent personalities from the film and public life. The Atal Samman Samaroh is organised to honour individuals who have made meaningful contributions to society in the spirit of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s ideals of service, integrity, and nation-building.

The honour was presented in the presence of Satish Poonia, Haryana BJP in-charge; Raj Bhushan Choudhary, Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti; Shripad Naik, Union Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy; and noted Bollywood actor Huma Qureshi, among other dignitaries.

Speaking after receiving the award, Pawan Nagpal expressed gratitude to the organisers and dignitaries for the recognition. In a statement, he said that the honour strengthens his resolve to continue working for social upliftment and public causes. He described the recognition as encouragement not just for him but for everyone engaged in grassroots social work.

The citation highlighted Nagpal’s work in the areas of social awareness, civic responsibility, and public-interest storytelling through films and digital platforms. Over the years, his initiatives have focused on amplifying voices from the margins, promoting social responsibility, and addressing issues related to governance, environment, and community welfare.

The Atal Samman Samaroh has emerged as a prominent platform that celebrates contributions across social service, culture, governance, and innovation. Organisers said the selection of awardees is based on sustained impact rather than one-time initiatives, making the recognition a mark of long-term commitment to society.

Attendees at the event noted that recognising social activists alongside political leaders and cultural figures helps bridge the gap between governance and grassroots action. The presence of ministers from key portfolios such as water resources and renewable energy also underscored the broader focus on sustainable development and public welfare.

The award ceremony concluded with a call for greater collaboration between civil society, policymakers, and creative professionals to address emerging social challenges. With this recognition, Pawan Nagpal joins a list of individuals honoured for their contribution to nation-building through service-driven work.
