Mukesh Ambani Hails PM Modi as India’s ‘Protective Wall’, Makes Big Gujarat Promise

Mukesh Ambani Calls PM Modi India’s ‘Protective Wall’, Announces ₹7 Lakh Crore Gujarat Investment

Rajkot: Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani on Sunday announced a major expansion of the conglomerate’s investments in Gujarat, pledging to double Reliance’s total investment in the state to ₹7 lakh crore over the next five years. Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Ambani described him as India’s “invincible protective wall” amid global uncertainty.

Speaking at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for the Kutch and Saurashtra regions, Ambani said Reliance is already the largest investor in Gujarat. “In the last five years, we have invested ₹3.5 lakh crore in Gujarat. Today, I am pleased to announce that we will double this investment to ₹7 lakh crore over the next five years,” he said, adding that the expansion would generate large-scale employment, livelihoods, and economic growth.

Praise for the ‘Modi Era’

With Prime Minister Modi present at the event, Ambani credited him with restoring India’s civilisational confidence and redefining the country’s global standing. “Never in the history of independent India have we seen such hope, self-confidence, and vibrancy. Your vision has reshaped India’s trajectory for the next 50 years and beyond,” Ambani said.

He added that history would remember the Modi era as the period when India transitioned “from potential to performance, from aspiration to action, and from being a follower to becoming a global force.”

‘Invincible Protective Wall’ Against Global Challenges

Referring to geopolitical instability and global economic uncertainty, Ambani said India remains resilient due to Modi’s leadership. “What is reassuring for India is that these global challenges cannot trouble our people. This is because India has an invincible protective wall called Narendra bhai Modi,” he said.

Reaffirming Reliance’s deep-rooted connection with the state, Ambani described Gujarat as central to the company’s identity. “For Reliance, Gujarat is far more than a location. Gujarat is our body, heart, and soul. We are a Gujarati company,” he said.

Support for 2036 Olympics in Ahmedabad

Ambani also extended support for the Prime Minister’s vision to host the 2036 Olympic Games in Ahmedabad. He announced that the Reliance Foundation would partner with the Gujarat government to manage the Veer Savarkar Multi-Sports Complex in Naranpura.

The facility, he said, would serve as a hub for national and international sporting events and play a key role in training India’s future athletes.

Modi at Vibrant Gujarat Conference

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for Kutch and Saurashtra. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi were among the dignitaries present.

Before attending the conference, Modi participated in the Somnath Swabhiman Mahotsav Parv and offered prayers at the Somnath Temple, regarded as the first of the 12 Aadi Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and a site of immense spiritual and historical significance.
