By Indore Road Accident: Daughter of Former MP Home Minister Bala Bachchan Among Three Killed
Indore: Prerna Bachchan, daughter of Madhya Pradesh MLA and former Home Minister Bala Bachchan, died in a tragic road accident in the early hours of Friday near her residence in Indore, police officials confirmed. Two other youths also lost their lives in the accident, while another passenger sustained serious injuries.
The accident occurred around 5:15 am near the Ralamandal area on the Tejaji Nagar bypass when a car carrying four people collided with a truck. According to police, Prerna Bachchan was travelling with Prakhar Kasliwal, son of state Congress spokesperson Anand Kasliwal, Mansindhu, a transporter, and Anushka Rathi.
Prerna Bachchan, Prakhar Kasliwal, and Mansindhu died on the spot due to the impact of the collision. Anushka Rathi suffered critical injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Indore.
Police officials stated that the group was returning from Mhow after celebrating Prakhar Kasliwal’s birthday when the accident took place. Deputy Police Commissioner Krishna Lal Chandani said that Prakhar Kasliwal, who was driving the car, allegedly lost control of the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, causing it to crash into a truck parked or moving on the bypass.
Prerna Bachchan was preparing for the civil services examinations and was considered a bright student by family sources.
The truck driver has been taken into police custody, and an investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances leading to the accident. Authorities said further details will emerge after completion of the probe.
Congress Leaders Condole Death
Senior Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath expressed deep grief over Prerna Bachchan’s death, calling the incident “heart-wrenching.” In a post on X, he said he was shocked by the untimely demise of the daughter of his colleague and former Home Minister Bala Bachchan in the Indore road accident.

Leader of Opposition in Madhya Pradesh Assembly, Umang Singhar, also condoled the deaths and described the incident as an irreparable loss for the family. He prayed for strength for the bereaved family to cope with the tragedy.
