Yogi Adityanath Announces New Youth Policy for Uttar Pradesh on Independence Day

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday announced a new Youth Policy for Uttar Pradesh, placing skills, innovation and employment at the centre of the state’s strategy for empowering its young population. The announcement came during the state-level Independence Day celebrations at Vidhan Bhavan in Lucknow.

Calling the youth the greatest strength of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath said the new policy would adopt an integrated approach to expanding opportunities for young people. The government, he said, wants to ensure that the capabilities and potential of the state’s youth are translated into skills, innovation and meaningful employment.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the policy would give fresh momentum to the government’s efforts to strengthen the state’s young workforce.

He said the government’s objective was to place skill development, innovation and employment opportunities within the reach of every young person in Uttar Pradesh. According to the Chief Minister, the policy is intended to create a more coordinated framework through which young people can develop their abilities and contribute more effectively to the state’s growth.

Focus on skills, innovation and employment

The new policy is expected to bring the government’s youth-focused efforts under a more integrated approach, with emphasis on preparing young people for emerging opportunities and improving their access to employment.

Yogi Adityanath said the state has a large pool of talented young people whose potential needs to be channelled effectively. Rather than treating skill development, innovation and employment as separate areas, the new policy seeks to connect them as part of a broader youth development strategy.

The Chief Minister also underlined the need to make better use of the abilities and potential of young people. He said the government’s resolve to create opportunities for the state’s youth would receive further momentum through the new policy.

The Independence Day announcement comes at a time when employment, skill development and opportunities for young people have become important areas of focus for governments across the country. For Uttar Pradesh, which has one of India’s largest young populations, the policy could provide a broader framework for addressing these priorities.

Yogi’s announcement also signals an effort to make youth development a more coordinated part of the state’s long-term development agenda, with the government seeking to connect young people’s skills and ideas with employment and economic opportunities.
