RSS Holds National Strategy Meet in Belagavi, Focuses on Shakha Expansion and Centenary Roadmap

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has begun its annual All-India Province Pracharak Meeting in Belagavi, Karnataka, bringing together its top leadership to review organisational progress and outline priorities for the coming year. A major focus of the three-day meeting is to accelerate the expansion of shakhas across the country and assess initiatives undertaken during the Sangh’s centenary year.

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat is leading the discussions, which are being attended by General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale, senior office-bearers, regional and provincial pracharaks, executive committee members, and representatives of several Sangh-inspired organisations. The gathering is expected to shape the organisation’s strategy for grassroots outreach and future expansion.

According to RSS sources, delegates will review reports from training camps conducted nationwide after March 2026 and evaluate how organisational plans have been implemented at the local shakha level. The assessment is aimed at identifying successful initiatives as well as areas where further strengthening is required.

A significant part of the discussions is centred on the expansion of shakhas, which the organisation considers its primary platform for community engagement and volunteer development. Leaders are expected to examine the progress made during the centenary celebrations and formulate new plans to increase the Sangh’s presence in different regions of the country.

The meeting is also reviewing programmes organised as part of the RSS’s 100th year celebrations. With several events still scheduled before the centenary concludes on Vijayadashami in October, the leadership is expected to finalise plans to ensure the remaining programmes are carried out effectively.

Another important agenda item is Mohan Bhagwat’s nationwide travel schedule for 2026-27. The discussions include future outreach programmes, organisational coordination, and ways to further strengthen the Sangh’s engagement with volunteers and affiliated organisations.

While the RSS meeting remained focused on organisational matters, it also drew political attention. Karnataka Congress president B.K. Hariprasad questioned the timing and purpose of the gathering, saying he would respond after observing its outcome. He also referred to the ongoing political debate surrounding the alleged Ayodhya Ram temple donation case, reiterating the Congress party’s demand for accountability from the Union government.

The Belagavi meeting is considered one of the RSS’s most important annual organisational exercises, where senior leaders review the year’s work, assess the strength of the organisation at the grassroots level, and chart its roadmap for the months ahead.
