Punjab and Haryana Are Like Two Brothers: CM Nayab Singh Saini Calls for Shared Growth at Nakodar Event

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday said that Punjab and Haryana share deep cultural and social bonds and should continue progressing together with the spirit of brotherhood and mutual cooperation. Speaking at a religious gathering in Nakodar, Punjab, he expressed hope that both states would continue to contribute to the country’s overall development.

The Chief Minister made these remarks while attending the 43rd three-day annual fair at Darbar Bapu Lal Badshah Ji in Nakodar, Jalandhar. The event was also attended by the shrine’s spiritual head and former Member of Parliament Hans Raj Hans, along with devotees and dignitaries from different regions.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Saini said it was a matter of great honour and privilege to visit the sacred shrine of Almast Bapu Lal Badshah Ji. He described the opportunity to offer prayers at the revered religious site as a memorable experience and thanked the organising committee and Hans Raj Hans for their warm welcome and invitation.

The Chief Minister said that although Punjab and Haryana are separate states administratively, they remain closely connected through their shared history, cultural traditions, Guru heritage and long-standing social ties. He remarked that the two neighbouring states are like “two brothers of one family” and should continue strengthening their relationship through harmony, mutual respect and cooperation.

Expressing his wishes for Punjab’s continued progress, Mr. Saini said he hopes the state advances rapidly on the path of development, just as Haryana has been focusing on infrastructure, public welfare and economic growth. He added that the prosperity of both states would contribute to the nation’s overall progress.

During his visit, the Chief Minister offered prayers for the peace, prosperity and well-being of the people of Punjab and Haryana, while also seeking blessings for India’s continued development.

Mr. Saini also said that the Haryana Government draws inspiration from the teachings of Bapu Lal Badshah Ji in implementing welfare initiatives aimed at supporting the poor, the underprivileged and vulnerable sections of society. He reiterated that the government’s objective is to ensure that the benefits of development reach the last person in society, in line with the principle of Antyodaya.
