With discussions spanning artificial intelligence, biotechnology, advanced manufacturing, healthcare, clean energy and climate science, the conclave aims to connect scientific research with practical applications. Technology demonstrations, participation by around 150 deep-tech startups and showcases by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will be among the key attractions.
12 Thematic Areas to Shape Discussions
ESTIC 2026 will cover 12 major thematic areas, including artificial intelligence, biotechnology, advanced materials, manufacturing, healthcare, energy, climate science and ocean research.
The sessions will focus on identifying research priorities, strengthening India’s scientific and technological capabilities, and finding ways to turn research breakthroughs into solutions that can be used in everyday life and across industries.
The conclave is also expected to provide a platform for scientists, academic institutions, government representatives and businesses to exchange ideas on emerging technologies and India’s long-term innovation goals.
Around 150 Deep-Tech Startups to Showcase Innovations
A large technology and innovation exhibition will showcase indigenous scientific achievements alongside emerging technologies developed in India. Around 150 deep-tech startups will set up dedicated stalls to demonstrate their innovations and explain how these technologies could be applied across different sectors.
The event will also feature the Global Connect Networking Event, bringing together more than 300 invited participants from Indian and international universities, research institutions and industry.
The initiative aims to encourage international research partnerships, strengthen collaboration between academia and industry, and explore ways to move innovations from laboratories into commercial markets.
ISRO to Showcase Future Space Technologies
ISRO will be among the major participants, presenting emerging space technologies and future mission plans. At a curtain-raiser event, ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan said the agency’s exhibition would feature a model of a proposed next-generation heavy-lift launch vehicle designed to carry payloads exceeding 30,000 kilograms to low Earth orbit.
The exhibition will also feature the Chandrayaan-4 and Chandrayaan-5 missions, which are part of India’s planned lunar exploration programme. The source material identifies these missions as being aimed at sending Indian astronauts to the Moon.
The showcase will highlight India’s ambitions in space technology alongside developments in other scientific fields.
ESTIC 2026 and the Viksit Bharat 2047 Vision
The conclave is organised by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) under the guidance of the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India.
ESTIC 2026 is intended to strengthen cooperation across India’s science, technology and innovation ecosystem. It also aligns with the broader vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, which aims to transform India into a developed nation by the centenary of its independence.
By bringing researchers, entrepreneurs, policymakers and industry leaders together, the event seeks to encourage collaboration and support the development of technologies that can contribute to India’s future growth.
