During a review meeting in Chandigarh, Saini assessed the functioning of the app and the condition of roads managed by different government departments. He instructed officials to prevent complaints from remaining pending and stressed that road projects must be completed on schedule without compromising construction quality.
CM Emphasises Road Quality Standards
During the meeting, Saini underlined the need to use appropriate construction materials to improve road quality and durability. He directed officials to use reinforced cement concrete (RCC) or bitumen for road construction instead of tiles.
The Chief Minister also made it clear that road works should meet prescribed quality standards. The instructions apply to departments responsible for constructing and maintaining roads, with officials expected to ensure that projects are completed within the stipulated timelines.
Multiple Departments Asked to Follow PWD Standards
Saini directed all concerned departments, including the Panchayat Department and the Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board, to ensure that their roads are built according to the quality standards laid down by the Public Works Department (PWD).
The review covered roads under different departments, highlighting the need for a consistent approach to construction quality across the state. Officials have been asked to ensure that both new road projects and repair works meet the required standards.
Focus on Timely Grievance Redressal
The 10-day deadline for complaints registered through the ‘Mhari Sadak’ app places a clear timeline on addressing road-related grievances. Saini instructed officials to monitor pending complaints and ensure that the necessary work is completed without avoidable delays.
The directions combine a time-bound grievance mechanism with stricter attention to construction quality. Their implementation will depend on how effectively the concerned departments act on complaints and enforce the prescribed standards for road works.
