BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Tuesday interacted with diplomats and heads of mission from 12 countries at the party headquarters in New Delhi as part of the BJP’s ongoing ‘Know BJP’ initiative, aimed at strengthening political and diplomatic engagement with the international community.
The meeting marked Nabin’s first major diplomatic interaction since taking charge as BJP president and reflected the party’s increasing effort to present its organisational philosophy and governance model on a global platform.
According to party leaders, representatives from Brazil, Germany, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mauritius, New Zealand, Seychelles, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam participated in the programme. During the interaction, Nabin spoke about the BJP’s rise from a cadre-based political movement to what the party describes as the world’s largest political organisation.
He also highlighted the ideological foundations of the BJP, including cultural nationalism, integral humanism and the concept of “Antyodaya” — a philosophy focused on the upliftment of the last person in society. Party officials said Nabin emphasised how these principles have shaped governance decisions under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The interaction reportedly included discussions on India’s democratic framework, welfare initiatives, economic reforms and public participation in governance. BJP leaders present at the event argued that the party’s political model has evolved around grassroots organisation and large-scale public outreach.
Diplomats attending the programme are understood to have shared feedback and suggestions regarding future engagements. Several participants reportedly appreciated the initiative as an opportunity to better understand India’s political landscape and the functioning of the ruling party.
Senior BJP leaders including Vinod Tawde, K. Laxman, Vijay Chauthaiwale, Kamaljeet Sehrawat and Anurag Sharma were also present during the interaction. The BJP’s foreign affairs department coordinated the programme.
The ‘Know BJP’ initiative was launched in 2023 by former BJP president J. P. Nadda with the aim of familiarising diplomats, foreign political representatives and global stakeholders with the BJP’s ideology, organisational structure and governance approach.
Political observers see the programme as part of the BJP’s broader strategy to expand its international engagement and project India’s political transformation under the Modi government to a wider global audience.
