Even as geopolitical tensions, economic uncertainties, and global disruptions continue to impact countries across the world, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday asserted that India remains firmly on its growth path. Addressing the 11th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog, the Prime Minister said the country is moving ahead with confidence, stability, and a clear vision for the future.
The meeting focused on accelerating India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation under the Viksit Bharat vision. Modi emphasized that achieving this ambitious goal will require stronger coordination between the Centre and states, along with greater participation from youth, women, entrepreneurs, and local communities.
Highlighting India’s resilience during a period of international uncertainty, the Prime Minister noted that the country’s economic fundamentals remain strong and its development agenda continues to gain momentum. According to him, India is increasingly positioning itself as a reliable growth engine at a time when many global economies are facing challenges.
A major focus of his address was the expanding role of international trade partnerships. Modi pointed out that India has signed several free trade agreements in recent years, opening new opportunities for exports and business expansion. He said these agreements could particularly benefit the country’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), provided they adapt to global standards and improve competitiveness.
“The opportunities are immense for Indian businesses,” the Prime Minister observed, stressing that MSMEs can become key drivers of export-led growth if they are equipped with the right support and infrastructure.
Modi also described India’s young population as one of the country’s greatest strengths. He said the demographic advantage available today is a historic opportunity that cannot be wasted. Creating quality educational institutions, industry-linked skill development programmes, and sustainable employment opportunities must remain a national priority, he added.
According to the Prime Minister, India’s youth will play a decisive role in shaping the country’s future and transforming the vision of Viksit Bharat into reality.
The Prime Minister further underlined the importance of cooperative federalism, calling for greater dialogue and collaboration among states. He said NITI Aayog should continue to serve as a platform where states can exchange ideas, learn from each other’s experiences, and work together on common development goals.
Women-led development also featured prominently in his remarks. Modi said women are making significant contributions across sectors ranging from agriculture and entrepreneurship to science and innovation. He urged states to strengthen efforts in education, safety, skill development, and economic empowerment to unlock the full potential of women in nation-building.
Concluding his address, Modi said India’s development journey will gain further momentum when the Centre and states work together with a shared sense of purpose, ensuring that the benefits of growth reach every section of society.
