Hisar Airport Set for Major Upgrade as Haryana Pushes Aviation Growth

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced that air connectivity from Hisar Airport will be expanded significantly in the coming months, with new flight services planned to major destinations including Jammu, Ahmedabad, and Delhi. The move is expected to strengthen regional connectivity and improve travel options for residents across the state.

Speaking at a function in Bhiwani, the Chief Minister said the state government is working on an ambitious plan to transform Hisar Airport into a major aviation hub. He added that by the end of 2027, the airport will feature a modern passenger terminal, cargo facilities, and a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) hub, creating new opportunities for the aviation sector in Haryana.

During his visit, Saini inaugurated infrastructure projects worth ₹31 crore at Chaudhary Bansi Lal Aerodrome in Bhiwani. The newly inaugurated facilities include a hangar, an Air Traffic Control (ATC) building, a security post, and a canteen aimed at supporting aviation operations and training activities.

The Chief Minister said flight operations from Hisar, which currently connect destinations such as Chandigarh and Jaipur, will soon be expanded to include Jammu, Ahmedabad, and Delhi. The enhanced network is expected to improve business travel, tourism, and economic activity in the region.

Highlighting the state’s aviation ambitions, Saini said the planned MRO hub at Hisar Airport would provide aircraft maintenance, repair, and servicing facilities, helping attract investment and generate skilled employment opportunities.

The Chief Minister also congratulated trainee pilots who have successfully completed 120 flight training sessions at the Bhiwani airstrip. He expressed confidence that these young aviators would contribute to the aviation industry while bringing recognition to Haryana on national and international platforms.

According to state officials, the government’s focus on aviation infrastructure is part of a broader strategy to improve connectivity, encourage economic development, and position Haryana as an emerging centre for aerospace and aviation services.
