Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday personally joined the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls, using the occasion to encourage citizens to actively participate in the exercise aimed at ensuring an accurate and updated voter list.
During his visit to Narayangarh, the Chief Minister filled out his own enumeration form at the Narayangarh Rest House and submitted it to the designated Booth Level Officer (BLO). By completing the process himself, Saini sought to send a message about the importance of citizen participation in maintaining a transparent and reliable electoral system.
The Chief Minister carefully completed the form for Booth No. 129 before handing it over to Booth Level Officer Rakesh Kumar. He described the Special Intensive Revision campaign as a significant initiative to strengthen democratic institutions by ensuring that electoral rolls remain accurate and up to date.
Saini said a clean and error-free voter list is the foundation of free, fair and transparent elections. According to him, every eligible citizen should be included in the electoral roll, while ineligible or incorrect entries must be removed to preserve the integrity of the democratic process.
Appealing directly to voters across the state, the Chief Minister urged all eligible citizens to complete their enumeration forms within the stipulated timeline and submit them to their respective Booth Level Officers. He said active public participation would help election authorities prepare a more accurate and credible voter database.
He further noted that a comprehensive and updated electoral roll not only strengthens the election process but also safeguards every eligible citizen’s democratic right to vote. The success of the revision campaign, he said, depends on cooperation between election officials and the public.
The Chief Minister also acknowledged the efforts of Booth Level Officers and election personnel engaged in the drive. He appreciated their work in reaching households and verifying voter details, emphasizing that their role is critical to ensuring that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral rolls.
Saini directed officials associated with the campaign to make every effort to reach all eligible voters across their respective jurisdictions. He stressed that the objective should be to ensure maximum coverage so that every qualified citizen has the opportunity to be included in the voter list before the revision process concludes.
The Special Intensive Revision campaign is being carried out to verify and update voter records, improve the accuracy of electoral rolls and strengthen the credibility of the electoral process through greater public participation.
