Preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed visit to Jind on July 17 have gathered pace, with senior officials conducting on-ground inspections to ensure the smooth execution of the high-profile event. Rajesh Khullar, Principal Secretary to the Haryana Chief Minister, visited the venue on Monday and reviewed the progress of arrangements, directing officials to complete all preparations well before the Prime Minister’s arrival.
During the inspection, Khullar stressed that every department must work in close coordination to ensure the programme is conducted efficiently and without any operational shortcomings. He instructed officials to maintain high standards of planning, security and public convenience throughout the event.
Khullar reviewed several key aspects of the venue, including the main stage, public seating areas, security arrangements, parking facilities, VIP entry and exit routes, and the overall layout of the programme site. He held detailed discussions with administrative officials to assess the readiness of each component and sought updates on pending work.
The inspection also covered the designated VIP movement route, green zones, security perimeters, traffic management plans and the sector-wise arrangements being made for members of the public. Officials briefed him on parking routes and crowd management strategies designed to ensure smooth movement on the day of the event.
Keeping the summer weather in mind, Khullar directed authorities to make adequate arrangements for drinking water, fans, uninterrupted electricity supply and other essential public amenities. He also instructed officials to ensure proper cleanliness and comprehensive security measures along the entire route from the helipad to the event venue.
Emphasising accountability, he asked all officers and employees assigned to the programme to discharge their responsibilities with dedication and seriousness so that the event is conducted without disruption.
Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to inaugurate India’s first hydrogen-powered passenger train from Jind on July 17. The train will operate on the Jind–Sonipat rail corridor and is being viewed as a significant milestone in the country’s transition towards clean and sustainable rail transport.
Besides launching the hydrogen train, the Prime Minister is also expected to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for several development projects in Haryana during the visit.
The inspection was attended by Deputy Commissioner Vaishali Sharma, Inspector General Kuldeep Singh, Superintendent of Police Kuldeep Singh, along with other senior administrative and police officials overseeing preparations for the event.
