Haryana is set to witness one of its biggest infrastructure milestones on July 17, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Jind to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for several major development projects worth thousands of crores. The visit is expected to focus on clean energy, transport, healthcare and connectivity, while reinforcing the state’s role in India’s long-term development agenda.
The highlight of the Prime Minister’s visit will be the flagging off of India’s first hydrogen-powered train, a project seen as a significant step towards sustainable and environmentally friendly public transport. The initiative is expected to position Haryana at the forefront of India’s emerging green hydrogen ecosystem and strengthen the country’s commitment to cleaner mobility solutions.
According to the proposed programme, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate two new medical colleges in Bhiwani and Narnaul, marking a major boost for healthcare infrastructure in southern Haryana. The institutions are expected to improve access to advanced medical services for thousands of residents while expanding opportunities for medical education within the state.
Transport and connectivity projects will also feature prominently during the visit. Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Kurukshetra Elevated Railway Track, constructed at an estimated cost of around ₹350 crore. The project is expected to reduce traffic congestion caused by railway crossings and improve urban mobility in the city.
Several important road infrastructure projects are also expected to be launched, including the Ambala–Kala Amb Greenfield Four-Lane Corridor, the Haryana section of the Delhi–Katra Expressway, the Jind–Gohana National Highway (NH-352A), the Hisar–Barwala Four-Lane Highway, and the Bikaner–Siwani–Sonipat road corridor. These projects are aimed at improving regional connectivity, reducing travel time and supporting industrial and commercial growth across Haryana.
Another key announcement during the visit will be the foundation stone for a modern Sikh Museum in Kurukshetra. The proposed museum will showcase the history and teachings of all ten Sikh Gurus through digital galleries, interactive exhibits, a modern library and light-and-sound presentations. The project is expected to strengthen religious and cultural tourism in the region.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has described the visit as an important milestone in Haryana’s development journey. Party leaders say the projects reflect the government’s emphasis on expanding infrastructure, improving healthcare, strengthening transportation networks and promoting sustainable development under the vision of a “Viksit Bharat” and “Viksit Haryana.”
Preparations for the Prime Minister’s public rally in Jind have entered the final phase. According to Haryana Chief Minister’s Media Coordinator Ashok Chhabra, administrative authorities and BJP workers are working closely to ensure smooth arrangements. Organisers have also planned several eco-friendly measures, including encouraging public transport, reducing fuel consumption and promoting environmentally responsible event management.
With thousands of people expected to attend, the visit is being seen as both a major development event and a significant political engagement. Officials believe the projects announced during the programme will accelerate infrastructure growth, attract investment and further strengthen Haryana’s position as a key contributor to India’s economic and sustainable development goals.
